Going through life with missing teeth is a burden no one should have to bear. When you’re missing teeth, even the simplest and most routine of daily activities become complicated with embarrassment, pain, and discomfort. From difficulties biting, chewing, and eating to self-consciousness about smiling and socializing with friends, suffering from missing teeth takes a drastic toll on one’s overall health and well-being. And missing teeth aren’t just a cosmetic hindrance; suffering from missing teeth can cause bone mass in the jaw to deteriorate, which can lead to physical changes in your jawline and facial appearance. Periodontal pockets from missing teeth are also a harbor for dangerous inflammation-causing bacteria, which can result in a serious decline in a patient’s general health if left untreated.
No matter how unsightly your smile is or how bad the current state of your oral health is, Dr. Jason Nicholson and our team of implant specialists at Sundance Implant and Periodontal Center can offer life-changing restorative solutions. Considered the modern standard for missing tooth replacement, dental implants are far superior to dentures and will reinstate the comfort, durability, beauty, and functionality that come with perfectly natural healthy teeth. Dr. Nicholson has over a decade of elite technical training and is currently regarded as one of the nation’s premier implant specialists.
Dental implants offer a highly effective and versatile solution for replacing missing or unsalvageable teeth. Consisting of three components – the post, abutment, and restoration – implants work together to restore up to 99% of the biting power of natural teeth. By integrating into the jawbone, the post acts as a tooth root, preventing strain on the jaw joint and maintaining bone volume. The abutment sits on top of the post to hold the restoration, which is typically made from a natural-looking material such as zirconia, ensuring a flawless, natural smile. Even though dental implants may be more expensive than other tooth replacement options, they are considered the gold standard solution due to their superior strength and longevity. At Sundance Implant & Periodontal Center, we offer affordable dental implants with a streamlined approach that can replace any number of missing teeth seamlessly. By placing multiple teeth on just a few implant posts, we can often provide full-arch dental implants with only four to six posts, resulting in a strong, stable replacement for your full set of teeth.
When it comes to dental implants, patients have a range of options to choose from, depending on their unique needs and preferences. Single dental implants are ideal for those who are missing one tooth or have a severely damaged tooth that needs to be replaced. Multiple dental implants, on the other hand, can replace several teeth or even a full arch of missing teeth. For patients who are missing most, or all their teeth, implant-supported dentures or full-arch dental implants are excellent options. Implant-supported dentures are secured by four to six dental implants and offer superior stability compared to traditional dentures, while full-arch dental implants can replace an entire arch of teeth with just a few implant posts. With a range of dental implant options available, Dr. Nicholson will craft a custom treatment plan based on your dental concerns and desired treatment outcome to find the best solution for your unique situation and goals.
Dental implants are a substantial investment in your health, function, and quality of life. Avoid the common mistakes people make when considering implants by following our recommendations.
The very first step of the dental implant process is to consult with Dr. Nicholson. During this very thorough time with Dr. Nicholson, we will discuss your dental concerns, smile goals, and what you hope to get out of the treatment. This is arguably the most important step in the dental implant process as it creates the outline for Dr. Nicholson to follow when crafting your personalized treatment plan.
Once your consultation is complete and your treatment plan is ready, we’ll schedule your surgery date for your full-arch dental implant surgery. On surgery day, we’ll administer your preferred sedation option and begin placing four to six dental implants utilizing our All-on-4 protocol at a 45-degree angle in your jawbone to not only provide optimal foundational support for your new teeth but limit jawbone recession. Once placed, we’ll suture your incisions and attach your abutment and your temporary restoration.
Once your dental implants have fused with your jawbone through a process called osseointegration, your mouth will be healed enough to place your final restoration. Dr. Nicholson will remove your temporary restoration and replace it with your final set of teeth so you can enjoy a healthy, functional smile that’s full of beauty!
